What you’re looking at.
A septum “clicker” made of rose gold with VS diamonds and a pear cut white opal.
Who made it.
Micah Greenlay of Scylla Jewelry.
Why we love it.
Micah’s work is very elegant and we love his fresh take on hand made “fine jewelry” styles for body adornment. This piece is super lush with white opal and genuine VS quality diamonds set in rose gold, which is very popular right now. We’re suckers for genuine stones – there’s a place in the market for CZ’s but our preference is always for natural, whether it’s diamond or white topaz or sapphire, especially when used with precious metals like gold or platinum.
There’s a lot going on in this piece but we think it works well, and at scale (septum pieces are generally pretty small in overall diameter) packs quite a punch. The stone settings all work well for their intended purpose, and the tiny grains (milgrain) around the small diamonds help to create a little more sparkle and detail and add a traditional flare.
It’s our understanding that this piece is one of a kind – if you own it, we would love to update this post with a photo of it being worn!
