What you’re looking at.
A pair of ear weights created by hand from brass and set with zillions (22 each, if you want to get technical) of 3mm ‘London Blue’ Topaz stones.
Who made it.
Mark Thone of Heart on Sleeve.
Why we love it.
Mark is one of the folks from a traditional jewelry background to blast onto the body jewelry scene over the past several years. He’s been flexing his stone setting prowess lately with bead setting projects and pavé and these do not disappoint. A mind boggling 22 3mm settings per piece with a 1.25mm white topaz for the eyes kicks what would otherwise be very simple pieces into overdrive. The ‘London Blue’ works wonderfully with the gold color of the brass – blue and gold always look amazing together. The snake is a nice twist, and we appreciate that these are very similar in style to many traditional Southeast Asian wrist bangles and other jewelry involving snakes.
These pieces are currently available, which is rare for the items we post here on F+F, and you’ll find them here
