We do accept suggestions for pieces or people you think we should know about, but we have some guidelines for what we will feature on the site. Please click on the relevant tabs below and check to ensure your submission meets these guidelines prior to filling out this form.

Our primary focus at Forest + Fiber is promoting handmade work within the body adornment and general fashion industries. We have a post priority that we utilize to ensure we are covering things that fit our mission.

That priority is as follows:

  1. Handmade objects and their makers
  2. Independent designers having objects handmade
  3. Independent designers with mass produced objects
  4. Larger companies/design houses We give the most consideration to individual creators of handmade works and the least consideration to mass produced works from large producers and fashion houses, although we do periodically cover those items when they are fabulous.

Please note that while we will interview makers of standard jewelry (necklaces, earrings, etc) we do not currently cover standard jewelry as individual items.

We do not cover body jewelry made from acrylic, any polymer clay, or poor quality metals. We also do not cover body jewelry utilizing resin for inlays or which use glue as an adhesive to connect multiple components together.
We give highest priority to submissions including handmade clothing, handmade or hand dyed fabrics, and knitwear physically produced by an individual designer. We do also cover independent designers who outsource their construction as long as the items are handmade, and we prefer if the designer does have a background in production and can actually create patterns, drape, and construct garments.
We give highest priority to submissions which are handmade by an individual designer, including footwear, bags, headwear, scarves and general knit/crochet wear, belts, wallets and such. We do also cover independent designers who outsource their construction as long as the items are handmade, and we prefer if the designer does have a background in production and can actually create the items they sell.

If you’ve found something fabulous that meets these standards, let us know by filling out the form below!
